Our Wireless Projects

Indigenous SDR-Based Drone Data Link Systems

We are developing an indigenous SDR-based drone data link platform focused on secure, reliable, and mission-oriented communications for Indian defence applications. The platform is designed to support unmanned aerial systems operating in diverse and challenging environments, enabling dependable command, control, telemetry, and payload data exchange. Our approach emphasizes sovereign ownership of the communication stack and flexibility to adapt to evolving operational needs without reliance on commercial or foreign communication standards.

The system serves as a scalable and reusable foundation for multiple UAV programs, supporting rapid prototyping, validation, and transition toward deployable hardware. By leveraging SDR-centric development and field-oriented testing, the platform allows defence stakeholders to evaluate and tailor communication capabilities with confidence. This initiative aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat objectives by strengthening indigenous capabilities in critical defence communication technologies while maintaining security, control, and long-term sustainability.

GARUDA-LINK

Ground–Air Reconfigurable Unified Digital Architecture

GARUDA-LINK is an indigenous, modular communication platform designed around a tightly integrated processor, RF front-end, and FPGA architecture for unmanned and mission-critical defence applications. The project focuses on building a flexible and self-contained airborne–ground communication framework that can be adapted across multiple platforms and operational roles. By combining software-controlled processing with hardware acceleration and configurable RF interfaces, GARUDA-LINK enables sovereign control over critical communication subsystems without dependence on proprietary or externally governed solutions.

The platform is conceived as a deployable and extensible foundation, supporting rapid adaptation to evolving defence requirements while maintaining security, reliability, and long-term maintainability. GARUDA-LINK is positioned to serve as a reference architecture for Indian defence programs requiring indigenous communication capabilities across aerial platforms. The project aligns with national self-reliance objectives by strengthening in-country design, integration, and validation of core communication building blocks spanning processing, hardware acceleration, and RF domains.
